Work Based Learning provides training over varying periods of weeks, in a wide variety of occupational, basic (literacy and numeracy) skills and "soft" skill areas.
Training is available for unemployed people over the age of 25, on a voluntary basis, generally once Job Seekers Allowance has been claimed for six months - although early entry may be possible.
All courses are aimed at improving participants' employability and their prospects of moving into sustained employment.
